Description

This sweet late Victorian ring features three opals and an old-cut diamond in a beautiful clover or club shape, set in rose gold.

HISTORY

Like the lucky horseshoe, the clover leaf was one of the most popular motifs used during the Victorian era to represent and help attract good fortune. Worn as a superstitious practice to help ward off even spirits and other misfortune, it was also though to bring the wearer success and other blessings.

Opals, the birthstone for October, were believed by the Romans to be the most precious and powerful gems of all because they contained the colors of all other gemstones, while Bedouins believed they contained lighting that fell from the sky.
